The Creative Communities research group at the Department of Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder explores how we can engage people to create, play, and learn together. We are researchers, students, designers, and educators committed to designing and studying learning experiences for young people to create things they care about, develop identities as creators, and shape the world around them.
We believe
that everyone is a learner and a teacher and learning can happen anywhere.
learning environments should cultivate joy, relationships, and equity.
that research, design, and technologies are tools to be used collaboratively with communities and organizations to imagine and build more just futures.
